I recently went to check out a super cool spot in Toronto called the Evergreen Brickworks. The Brickworks has been around for a long time, but they recently restored it and rebuilt it to create a very unique area that has a farmers market, restaurant featuring local produce, spaces for kids to play and learn about the environment and areas for events and special occasions. There are also many areas around there where you can go on a stroll or hike through the Don Valley. We went on a glorious Saturday when the sun was out, the fall colours were just beginning and the sky was a bright beautiful blue. The farmers market was in full swing and there was tons of food to sample, cheeses to buy and fresh produce available (I got some of the season’s last corn! YaY!). I highly suggest going to check it out one Saturday, though I do warn: it ends at 1pm, so hung-over folk beware. Also there are A LOT of kids, so if screaming children aren’t your thing on a Saturday morning maybe stick to the more adult friendly restaurant. For more info, check it out here.
